Buddha Maya Gardens sits just outside the Sacred Garden on the southern side of the Lumbini master-plan area, close enough to walk to the Maya Devi Temple at opening time. The hotel belongs to the KGH Group, which also runs the long-established Kathmandu Guest House, and it has operated in Lumbini for about a quarter of a century. Low buildings spread around lawns and trees, so the atmosphere is calm even when groups are in residence.
Rooms are comfortable rather than lavish, with the standard comforts of a good Nepali 3-star hotel. The in-house restaurant serves Nepali, Indian and continental dishes, and vegetarian meals are easy to arrange for pilgrim groups. Staff are used to helping with bicycle hire, monastery visits and early starts for the Sacred Garden. The hotel also hosts wellness and meditation stays, which suits guests on our retreat package.

Questions travellers ask
How far is Buddha Maya Gardens from the Maya Devi Temple?
It is about a five-minute walk from the Sacred Garden entrance, which makes it one of the closest comfortable hotels to the Maya Devi Temple. Guests can easily reach the temple at opening time for morning chanting, return for breakfast, and go out again by bicycle for the monasteries.
Does Buddha Maya Gardens serve vegetarian food?
Yes. The restaurant serves Nepali, Indian and continental dishes with plenty of vegetarian choices, and the kitchen is used to pilgrim groups. Jain or no-onion-no-garlic meals can usually be prepared with advance notice; we pass on dietary requests when booking.
Is Buddha Maya Gardens good for families?
Yes. The garden grounds give children space to play, the location keeps travel to the Sacred Garden short, and staff can arrange bicycles and rickshaws for the monastic zone. Family and connecting room availability varies, so tell us your group size early, especially for April and May.
