How the ratings work
Each place carries a rating for every month, set from its weather, trail and road conditions, views and crowds. Places left off the list for a month are usually under monsoon cloud, snowbound or too hot to enjoy.
The ratings are a guide, not a forecast. Mountain weather changes year to year, and a "good" month with fewer visitors can suit you better than a crowded "best" one.
