An indicative per-person cost for a Nepal trip in rupees and dollars. Change the days, group, hotels and add-ons and the estimate updates as you go.
What the figures are based on
- A 3-star room in Kathmandu or Pokhara usually costs ₹3,500–6,000 a night with breakfast; teahouse rooms on trekking routes cost far less, but meals and hot showers cost more.
- A licensed trekking guide is about US$30–35 a day and a porter about US$20–25 a day, including their food and lodging on the trail. One porter carries for two trekkers.
- Kathmandu–Pokhara is about US$120 each way for foreign nationals; Lukla is about US$217 each way, and in spring and autumn many Lukla flights leave from Ramechhap, a four to five hour drive from Kathmandu.
- Shared heli seats assume a full helicopter; on a quiet day the per-seat price can rise.
