Panorama Lodge Namche

Panorama Lodge is a family-run lodge on the upper terraces of Namche Bazaar, near the path to the Sherpa museum and Syangboche. It has ensuite rooms with mountain views, electric bed warmers and its own restaurant, at a mid-range price.

  • Standard
  • 3,440 m

Panorama Lodge and Restaurant sits high on the Namche bowl, above most of the town's lanes and close to the trail that climbs to the national park visitor centre, Sherpa Culture Museum and Syangboche. The height gives it a wider outlook than lodges lower down, across the gorge to Thamserku and Kongde Ri, and a quieter feel at night. Climbing teams and trekking groups use it during the spring and autumn seasons.

Rooms have private bathrooms with hot water, electric bed warmers and seating areas, and the dining room serves Nepali and Western dishes, with a fireplace in the lounge. The trade-off for the views is a few extra minutes of stone steps from the main street, which is also useful acclimatisation. It is a good-value step up from basic teahouses for travellers who want an attached bathroom without the price of a luxury lodge.
