Jungle Villa Resort sits on the northern edge of Chitwan National Park at Patihani, Bharatpur, on the bank of the Rapti and a short distance from the park headquarters at Kasara. It covers around two hectares of forest and mature gardens, with about two dozen air-conditioned cottages that have terraces facing the river or the garden. There is a restaurant serving Nepali, Indian, Chinese and Western food, using vegetables and dairy from local farms, plus a bar, pool and spa.
The resort's naturalists lead jeep safaris, jungle walks, birding, canoeing and village tours, starting from the nearby Kasara and Patihani entry points. The location gives easy access to the gharial breeding centre and the quieter central part of the park. We use it on our birding tour and as a calm alternative to Sauraha for couples and families. As with all our stays, we do not book the elephant activities some Chitwan lodges still sell.
