The monsoon ends in Nepal through the month, Simikot flights become more reliable, skies over the plateau are at their clearest and crowds are lighter than in June. Nights grow colder quickly: by late September Dirapuk drops well below freezing and fresh snow can dust Dolma La. Shoton sometimes falls in early September in Lhasa.
Darchen 1 to 14 °C, clear; Saga −1 to 15 °C. Conditions change fast with altitude, so check the mountain forecast a few days before you travel.
