Is June a good time to visit Everest & Khumbu?

The monsoon usually reaches the Khumbu in early to mid June. Rain falls most afternoons and nights below Namche, trails are muddy and cloud hides the peaks for days at a time. Lukla flights are frequently cancelled and many trekkers end up using helicopters. Higher valleys stay drier and green, and lodges along the main trail remain open. We do not sell base camp treks this month.

What is the weather like in Everest & Khumbu in June?

Namche 8 to 18 °C, daily rain or drizzle below 4,000 m, cloud. Conditions change fast with altitude, so check the mountain forecast a few days before you travel.
