Is June a good time to visit Manaslu & Tsum Valley?
The monsoon reaches Gorkha in mid-June. The Budhi Gandaki gorge receives heavy rain, landslides damage the trail and the road to Machha Khola, and leeches are everywhere below 3,000 m. Upper Tsum and Samdo are drier, being partly in the rain shadow, but reaching them is difficult. We do not run regular Manaslu treks in June. Climbing expeditions prepare to fly in for the autumn season.
