Questions travellers ask
Is July a good time to visit Everest & Khumbu?
July is the wettest month. Cloud sits in the Dudh Koshi gorge, Lukla flights operate only in short breaks, and the trail below Phakding has leeches and landslide-prone sections. Above Dingboche the rain is lighter and wildflowers cover the yak pastures. The Dumje festival, held around midsummer in some Sherpa villages, draws locals home. Views of Everest are rare, so most visitors wait until autumn.
