Is July a good time to visit Rara & the Far West?
July is monsoon month and we do not recommend most of the region. Bardia and Shuklaphanta close to visitors or become too wet for safaris, the Karnali Highway to Jumla suffers landslides, and flights to Talcha and Jumla are often cancelled. The exception is Upper Humla, which sits partly in the rain shadow: Simikot still receives Kailash groups, and the Limi Valley is green and walkable on well-equipped camping treks. Rara is lush but hard to reach reliably.
