Is July a good time to visit Annapurna?

July is the wettest month on the southern side of the Annapurnas, with Pokhara receiving some of the heaviest rainfall in Nepal. Trails are muddy and leech-infested, rivers run high and landslides frequently close roads. Mountain views are rare. The rain-shadow valley around Manang gets far less rain and stays green and quiet, but reaching it is unreliable. Flights to Jomsom are often cancelled by cloud.
